I am a passionate educator who has a personal understanding of
the challenges second language learners face when coming to a new school. I
myself came from Honduras when I was a young child and struggled to socialize
with my peers. Worse, I had to repeat third grade because my inability to
understand my teachers and course materials put me at an academic disadvantage.
It wasn't until I met my teacher, Mrs. Sanchez, that began to
blossom and thrive on an academic and social level. Her dedication to making
sure that I was heard and understood the English language made all the
difference in the world.
In one year, I went from borderline failing to status as an
honor roll student. My self-esteem soared and I was able to make new friends and
enjoy being a part of my community and joined many of the clubs my school
had to offer.
I was so inspired by my experience that I chose teaching as my
vocation in order to give back to second language learners so they do not have
to struggle as I, and so many others, have in the past.
More than just a job--teaching is my calling. I have been
fortunate to make a difference in the lives of second language learners and have
been rewarded tenfold. I truly couldn't not imagine myself doing anything else.
If you are searching for a bi-lingual ESL teacher who has strong experience.
required credentials, and a deep passion and enthusiasm for teaching second
language learners, I would very much like to interview with your panel to
express how much it would mean to me to teach your district's ESL curriculum.
Thank you in advance for your time and consideration. I look forward
to hearing from you soon in the hopes of becoming a part of your school
district's dedicated team of ESL teachers.
Sincerely,
