In pursuit of my goal to work in catering / banquet services for a well-established hotel, I am contacting you in the hopes that you have a position in this area or perhaps similar in scope or entry-level. For your review, I have attached my resume to provide you with an overview of my relevant experience and qualifications.  

What my attached resume may not fully convey is my undeniable passion for working around food and people, and coordinating events that bring it all together! Upon review of my background, you will note that it has its early beginnings in the field of education where I saw to providing quality education to grade school children with diverse learning styles and abilities.

As a teacher, I developed and utilized many skills that will certainly be utilized throughout my career. Specifically, these include my ability to plan, create, organize, coordinate, present, manage, supervise, and to identify and resolve problems. 

Determined to meet my goal, I transitioned my career from education to the business world, taking a position with Tech-Biz to assist in coordinating the logistics of several corporate events, which involved working with an outside catering company to handle that aspect of events planning. With each event, I communicated with vendors on an informal basis to learn as much about the catering business as possible, and greatly enjoyed seeing the staff bring it to life at each event in the way of exciting and creative food displays.  

Knowing that my goal is to work in a hotel, I took a position with La Spa, one of Germany’s busiest hotels to manage its front desk and concierge. As this position was held during the hotel’s peak summer season, I gained valuable experience in broad areas of day-to-day hotel operations. The combination of both positions was a great foundation for me and solidified my resolve to further pursue my goal to work catering services for a large hotel.
